Ashton Court
Super Nova
The Super Nova is Ashton Court’s red-graded mountain bike trail, offering a short but more technical challenge alongside the blue Nova loop.
Nova starts with fast and flowy berms, rollers, and pumpy doubles, then fires riders into a series of downhill berms and rollable tabletops.
It’s a great place to build those skills and get an intro to airtime. Super Nova is ideal for riders who are comfortable on the main Nova trail and want to step things up, or more experienced riders looking for a quick hit of more technical riding in the heart of Bristol.
Super Nova was paid for by Stif Cycles in 2022, and built by Velosolutions and Ride Bristol volunteers.

Ashton Court
The Nova (and Super Nova) Trail
The Nova Trail is Ashton Court’s main blue-graded mountain bike trail, a roughly 4-mile (6.5km) purpose-built loop through woodland and open parkland. It’s fast, flowing and accessible, with berms, rollers, small drops and rocky features providing plenty of fun for newer riders while still rewarding experienced riders who carry more speed.
Designed to be ridden in all weathers and all year-round, the Nova is free to use, clearly signposted, and a great introduction to mountain biking in Bristol. Riders looking for something more technical can also tackle the adjoining red-graded Super Nova section.
The Nova Trail is maintained by Ride Bristol volunteers.

Leigh Woods
Yer Tiz Trail
The Yer Tiz Trail is Leigh Woods’ blue-graded mountain bike trail, completely rebuilt and reopened in 2026 following a major £200,000 refurbishment.
The new 3.6km loop keeps the fun, flowing character of the original Yer Tiz, but adds a freshly surfaced trail, wider sections, sculpted berms, rollers, climbs and descents designed to work for a much broader range of riders, including those on adaptive bikes.
All of the main trail’s features can be rolled at a controlled speed, making Yer Tiz a great progression trail for riders with basic off-road skills, while faster and more experienced riders can carry speed through the berms and rollers. The rebuild has also made the trail more accessible to riders using adaptive and non-standard mountain bikes, with four optional red-graded sections providing extra challenge for those who want it.

50 Acre Woods
50 Acre Wood Trail
50 Acre Wood is the place to go for natural and old-school mountain biking.
The volunteer-built 3-mile loop is almost entirely proper woodland singletrack, so expect roots, rocks, mud, punchy little climbs and a fast and rough descent to finish.
It’s a step up from the smoother trails at Ashton Court and Leigh Woods, with the weather playing a much bigger part in how it rides. In the dry it can be fast and grippy; add a bit of Bristol rain and those roots soon keep you on your toes. There are technical features and optional lines along the way, but the big attraction is simply that 50 Acre feels like proper, natural mountain biking right on the edge of the city.
Don’t miss the optional Cliffs of Faff area at the end of the trail, the perfect place to get creative and try some steep lines!

Ashton Hill Plantation
Belmont Bike Park
Belmont Bike Park is a MUST if your version of mountain biking is more about jumps and gravity.
Hidden away in Ashton Hill Plantation, it’s a compact network of hand-built downhill, freeride and jump trails, packed with berms, drops, roots, technical sections and some properly big jumps.
Built and looked after by the Belmont Riders Association, there are plenty of different lines to session and progress on, from technical woodland riding through to features that demand serious commitment. It’s definitely one for confident, experienced riders, but if getting your wheels off the ground and riding laps with your mates sounds like your thing, Belmont is well worth a visit. Don’t miss the Table For One jump line if you’re looking for a perfect intro to jumping your bike.
Please note that Belmont Bike Park is closed during wet weather, and during the winter.
Follow the Belmont Riders Instagram for updates and to support the trails.
