September Ride Out

Summer’s nearly done, so we’re giving it a proper send-off.

Our September Ride Out lands on Thursday 17th September, and we’re teaming up with the lovely people at The Nova Scotia for a slightly special version of our usual Thursday night ride.

The plan is simple. Meet at Pedal Progression, Ashton Court at 6:45pm, head out for a couple of hours on some of our favourite Bristol trails, then finish down at the Nova Scotia for food, drinks and a bit of an end-of-summer get together.

Hopefully with dusty bikes and a warm evening. Almost certainly with dirty bikes and a jacket. This is Bristol, after all.

Ride bikes. Eat food. Help the trails.

This one will be £10 to join, with food provided by the Nova Scotia and a donation from every ticket going back into Bristol’s mountain bike trails through Ride Bristol.

The Nova Scotia will be handling the tickets through Eventbrite, so unlike our normal Thursday rides, you’ll need to grab a ticket in advance for this one.

What’s the ride like?

As always, this is a social mountain bike ride.

We’ll keep the pace chilled, stop to regroup and make sure nobody gets dropped or left behind. We’ll ride a mixture of surfaced and natural trails around Ashton Court, Leigh Woods and the surrounding area, depending on conditions and what everyone fancies on the night.

You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable riding the blue and red trails at Ashton Court and happy riding off-road for a couple of hours.

This isn’t a guided ride or a coaching session. It’s just a bunch of mountain bikers heading out together, led by Ride Bristol volunteers who know the local trails.

The important stuff

Thursday 17th September 2026
Meet: 6:45pm
Pedal Progression, Ashton Court
Ashton Court Golf and Cycle Hub, Abbots Leigh Road, Bristol, BS8 3PX

We’ll finish at The Nova Scotia at around 9ish for food and drinks.

Bring a safe, working mountain bike, helmet and everything you need to be self-sufficient out on the trails. September evenings are starting to draw in too, so bring some decent riding lights. We’d rather have them and not need them than discover halfway through Leigh Woods that none of us can see.

And maybe chuck a jacket in your bag for the pub.

Come and see summer off with us

Good trails, good people, a few hours on the bike and food at the pub afterwards. Plus a few quid from every ticket helping us look after the trails we’re riding.

Sounds like a decent Thursday night to us.

Grab your ticket, bring your bike and come Ride Out with us.
